Welcome to The Greenwich Tritons.

Greenwich TritonsWe have been operating since 1986 and have established ourselves as one of the 'old guard' of triathlon, where a bunch of like-minded individuals get together to motivate and improve on the the various aspects of this demanding sport.

We welcome anyone who is interested in the sport, from the novice through to the experienced elite athlete. We pride ourselves on being local and have provided the grass roots encouragement that launched Sian Brice's triathlon career, a competitor in the Sydney Olympics.

Weekend Roundup
Monday, 07 December 2009

Its that time of year when most of us have packed up our racing bikes and exchanged power bars for chocolate, but there are those of us that just can't get enough of the rush of racing!  Over the weekend, 7 Tritons took part in the 3rd of the KCCL cross series, The Grim Challenge and the Percy Pud. Read on..............

KCCL-Danson Park

Jon Godsell and Rob Baker raced the 3rd of 4 X-country races in the Kent Cross Country League this past Saturday.   A brisk and bright morning with no rain for once!!  Men only this weekend, and though not enough to make up a team, both Jon and Rob performed well, Jon finishing in a time of 44:35 and Rob not far behind in 46 minutes flat.  Well done you two! The last race of the series is coming up on Feb. 13th.  Let's try and get on the results table!  I'm in.

The Percy Pud

Winn-Smiths' Take Pudding by Storm!!!!!   Through the wet, the bogs, the floods that nearly stopped the race, comes the Winn-Smiths'! Jo passed the pram to Matt this year and beating her time from last years race, screaming through to a 51:06 finish.  Yes, the pramming continues, and Matt and Lara overtook the masses to a sub 40 min finish in a time of 39:21!  I think we've got a challenge going here, someone needs to take on this duo.....  Well done to you all.  As they say, 'the proof is in the pudding!'

The Grim Challenge

Give me a T!!!!!!  A well earned cuppa after this race was a must!  Bruno Mahsoudi, Simon Carter and Martine Nield scrambled over muddy bogs, under camoflage netting and swam through inordinately deep revines, on the 8 mile course that is the Grim.  Due to an excessive amount of rain over the past few weeks, the puddles were very small bogs, and as such, made the race all that much harder.  Bruno and Martine scrambled to a 7th and 32nd place finish repsectively, in AG, while Simon battled the massive field of Senior Men to complete 8m in 1:16:48.  I'm sure after the chattering teeth stopped, the smiles of satisfaction on completing that course took over the chill!  Well done to you all.
