Vitruvian Triathlon 05-09-2009 HAPPY BIRTHDAY JANE!!! This past weekend, Jane Hinne led the field of Tritons by marking a 'milestone' birthday with a 1st place finish in her AG in a time of 5:37:35!!! To top off the buzz, Jane was crowned with flowers and plaque by the infamous Ironman, Thomas Hellreigel. Sue Hilton and Fiona Boxall also posted fantastic finishes-grinding over the gruelling 'Rutland Ripple' pushing themselves to a final time of 5:01:29 and 5:24:47 respectively. Simon Carter led the team for the men, with an outstanding finishing time of 5:46:47. A very impressive weekend by Team Tritons. I'm inspired! World Olympic Distance Triathlon Championships The performances to add to the ever growing list of Triton honour keep on coming! The lastest addition is Ciara Fitzpatrick who qualified to represent Ireland at the Dublin Olympic Triathlon! Ciara has qualified to represent Ireland not only at World Olympic Distance Champs, but ALSO at Standard Distance European Champs! Double Whammy! Congrats! Stockton Olympic Triathlon 30-08-2009 Peppi-Marie Holder and Andrew Fletcher competed in the Stockton Tri with impressive results! The results just keep getting better. Despite her thirst for the open water, Peppi finished 'fantastic four' in her age group in a time of 2:38:12! Andrew competed in the swim leg of a relay team 'Dishpigs??' and smashed a 24:18 swim bringing his team to 3rd place. Well done! |

X Terra World Championships
Massive congratulations to Cedric Lassonde who has qualified for the XTerra World Championships at the O-SEE Challenge in Germany this past month!! The XTerra event involved a 1500m swim, 36 km mountain bike and 9 km run. Cedric screamed past several of the elite men to earn himself a 17th place finish over all the men and 2nd place finish in AG 30-34! What a fantastic result over a very demanding and technical bike course. We wish Cedric the best of luck as he will be heading to Maui, Hawaii in October to compete in the Worlds.
ITU World Championships
Best of luck to Bernadette Henry, Freddie Sumption, Rob Baker, Vernon Thomas and Jamie Beecham who are shortly heading on their way to represent Team GB at the World Championships in the Gold Coast, Australia Sept 12 2009!! Once again, a fantastic show of talent representing our club and GB.
