X Terra World Championships
Massive congratulations to Cedric Lassonde who has qualified for the XTerra World Championships at the O-SEE Challenge in Germany this past month!! The XTerra event involved a 1500m swim, 36 km mountain bike and 9 km run. Cedric screamed past several of the elite men to earn himself a 17th place finish over all the men and 2nd place finish in AG 30-34! What a fantastic result over a very demanding and technical bike course. We wish Cedric the best of luck as he will be heading to Maui, Hawaii in October to compete in the Worlds.
ITU World Championships
Best of luck to Bernadette Henry, Freddie Sumption, Rob Baker, Vernon Thomas and Jamie Beecham who are shortly heading on their way to represent Team GB at the World Championships in the Gold Coast, Australia Sept 12 2009!! Once again, a fantastic show of talent representing our club and GB.

What a wicked weekend of racing, laughs and challenges! The course was open and spectator friendly, fellow competitors fun and supportive, the atmosphere heady with excitment and chaos! What a rush!!!
Leading the results for the weekend were the Ladies Vets- Keren, Fiona, Lucy and Jane; and Ladies Under 40-Sue, Coralie, Sarah and Freddie each team finishing in 7th place in their category!!
Team '118118' finished in a 'tashtastic' 24th place over all the mixed teams, followed closely by Team 117 captained by Rob Baker flouting the comeback of the Edkins who pulled his team to a 38th place finish!
The race of the day had to be the Mens relay where Jon and Sean braved the washing machine swim start, elbows out! Clive, Ed and Malcolm helped Jon to bring Team 294 to a screaming finish in 51st place, while Adrian, Steve Woods and Mark helped Sean to bring their team through in a finishing time of 3:44:55!
A good time had by all and a permanent addition to the Tritons calendar for next year. Next year TRITONS DOMINATION!!

Some stunning and extraodinary results this weekend including one for Ironman Fe in Estonia where Fiona Boxall placed 2nd in AG and was the 8th woman overall!! She raced over the course in a time of 6:20:18, past stunning scenery and enthusiastic supporters. This race sounds like a must to add to your Ironman list. Well done Fe!
ETU European Long Distance Championships Prague,
Czech Republic 08-08-2009
Top of the range!!!!!! Steve Walker, Adrian Durran and Cory Cook achieved some stunning results over the weekend in Prague. Steve and Adrian finished 5th and 13th repectively out of 13 Britains in their AG, while Cory was the 4th GB athlete across the line and 5th in her AG!! The weekend was a complete success and minus a few sore muscles I think the weary travellers are feeling quite chuffed!! Well done you three. GB's colours were flying.
